"Combining immersive cultural and hands on archaeological experiences, the Porolissum Forum Project has become a defining moment in my career and education. The warmth and welcoming nature of the local people made me feel like family and I have made friendships with both the local and international participants that will last a lifetime. I am forever grateful for this experience and highly recommend travel to Transylvania." - PFP 2008 and 2009.
"After one day of shoveling in the pouring rain at Porolissum I thought I better quit studying archaeology and go home. Fast-forward five years, and I have participated in another seven excavations, one of which also in Romania. And I will be back again. What is more, against all odds, I still have dinner every week with my friend Charlie - whom I met at Porolissum." – Zenobia Homan, PFP 2010
“The Porolissum Forum Project was an exciting field school opportunity in Roman/Dacian archaeology with experienced and knowledgeable professionals. Immersion in Romanian culture and language, and fantastic field trips. My summers there were beyond delightful.” – Ray Perret, PFP 2007 and 2008
The Porolissum Forum Project was such an incredible experience, I worked on the excavations twice. The people of Moigrad and Zalau are fantastic and I made many important friendships among the fellow students. The excavations at Porolissum were exciting - imagine working just 1 mile from the border of the Roman Empire. It was interesting to see the archaeology of a frontier zone, compared to the rich cities of Rome or Pompeii. - PFP 2009 and 2010
